“Empathy” is always the charity concept of Agile. For the past 28 years, apart from the company’s rapid growth and expansion, Agile has been being an active player in corporate social responsibility and devoted itself to various charitable activities of educational programmes, disaster relief and environmental protection, donating RMB 1.85 billion in total. Mr. Chen Zhuolin, Chairman and President of Agile Group Holdings Limited appeared repeatedly on the “Hurun Charity List” and he is also a frequent winner of the “China Charity Award”.

Supporting education and caring for the future of our country has always been a mission of Agile. It is also an aspiration for Mr. Chen Zhuolin, who was a teacher himself. By now, total donation in education sector is over RMB 900 million.

Early in 2007, Agile established the “Agile Property Scholarship and Study Subsidy” in ten universities such as Tsinghua University and Tongji University, a scholarship to reward and subsidise outstanding students with financial needs. To support the educational development of Zhongshan city, Agile’s hometown, “Chen Zhuolin Couple Education Foundation” was established in 2008. One year later, the “Agile Education Foundation” , “SYSU-Agile Charity Development Fund” and related programs were established. Over a decade, Agile has developed cooperative projects with educational institutions and colleges in infrastructure development, as well as scholarship for students and teachers, which provided strong support for introduction and cultivation of high-level talents.

Agile spared no effort in inheriting and popularizing Chinese culture overseas. In 2008, “Agile Special Fund for Chinese Culture Inheritance Work” was established, subordinate to the “Chinese Language and Culture Education Foundation of State Council”. Through its fund, Agile has donated RMB 60 million for Chinese language education in overseas countries, improving school infrastructure in 100 Chinese language schools in 71 countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, UK and Germany. All these have helped improving the teaching quality of thousands of overseas Chinese language teachers, winning high reputation both at home and abroad.

Natural disaster has no mercy. In order to help people in need, Agile set up special funds for disaster relief and made contributions to rescue people from dangerous situations.

In 2008, soon after the devastating Sichuan earthquake, Agile took series of disaster relief measures, and donated RMB 156 million to the disaster-stricken area in Sichuan. In the same year, 16 schools donated by Agile were all put into use.

Apart from disaster relieves, Agile also makes every effort in helping those who still live in hard times.

Agile has always supported various types of events organised by “World Vision” and called on society’s attention on issues such as poverty, hunger, disaster and disability. Since 2010, Agile has sponsored “30 Hour Famine” in Hong Kong and Macau for ten consecutive years. In 2013, Agile gave full sponsorship once again to the “Experiencing Hunger” charity event, in which World Vision and China Disabled Welfare Foundation cooperated for the first time.

In June 2012, at the inauguration ceremony of the “Guangdong Poverty Alleviation Day”, Agile donated RMB 85 million to support poverty alleviation activities in backward areas of Guangdong. As of March 2018, Agile has donated a total of RMB 59 million to Aotou Town, Conghua, effectively improved the living conditions and income of the local people.

To improve and upgrade the healthcare environment of Agile’s hometown, Agile donated RMB 100 million to People’s Hospital of Sanxiang, Zhongshan.

In 2018, in response to central government's call for “Taking Targeted Approach on Poverty Alleviation”, Agile has also allocated special funds to launch an industrial poverty alleviation plan. RMB 160 million will be donated to Yunnan and Hainan provinces to support local poverty alleviation work on infrastructure, healthcare and education.

Promoting of environmental protection and sustainable development is another focus of Agile's charitable works.

Agile and its eight major businesses try the best to utilize the natural resource and considers to downgrade the carbon emission from planning, purchasing, building, property to hotel management.

In order to enhance the environmental awareness of the employee of Agile, Agile initiated “Eco-Environmental Protection Day” since 2007 inside the company and has participated in Earth Hour for many years. Agile’s employee all over the country walk on the streets and clean up the road, promote energy conservation and environmental protection, and contribute to build up a clean and beautiful community through various activities, such as planting 20,000+ trees and 16,300 square meters’ grass, etc..

Being a company listed in Hong Kong, Agile has initiated “Joint University Eco-Business Innovation” competitions for many years in Hong Kong since 2011, in which college students provide profitable and eco-friendly business solutions based on real-life cases. Through competition, the future urban constructors understood and practiced low-carbon life, and the idea of sustainable development was passed on to the society.

In 2019, Agile signed the Low Carbon Charter by Business Development Council in Hong Kong, and will help for climate change in accordance to mitigation action by Paris Agreement

“Agile is willing to make every effort to help people in need to its best ability,” said Mr. Chen Zhuolin. This is the original aspiration of Agile’s devotion in philanthropic undertakings and public welfares. It is also a concrete demonstration of how Agile’s charity concept is practiced through corporate social responsibility.
